Geraghty Boat Charters: Passing the Torch

If you have ever set sail from Blacksod Pier to explore the Inishkea Islands and Achill Island or if you have went on a sea angling adventure to Black Rock, then you most likely sailed with Captains Mattie and Josephine of Geraghty's Boat Charters, a family run business who are well known all along the Wild Atlantic Way. But now, after 31 years at the helm, the couple have decided to pass the torch to their successor, their son Jason, who along with his partner Katherine and daughters Maisie and Kitty, are set to lead Geraghty Boat Charters into the next chapter. Conveying sincere appreciation, Mattie and Josephine extend thanks to everyone who has been part of their remarkable journey. “We wish to thank each and everyone who supported us, sailed with us, helped us, and skippered for us during the last 30 years. Oppenheimer Review

  Oppenheimer is a biographical film telling the tale of theoretical physicist, J.Robert Oppenheimer, 'The Father of the Atomic Bomb' . The movie was written and directed by Christopher Nolan (Interstellar, Inception, The Dark Knight) and stars Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Junior, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek and Kenneth Branagh.  Oppenheimer is Jewish, with ties to communism and when nuclear fission is first discovered in 1938, he fears the Germans will use this to develop a fission bomb for the Nazi's. U.S. Army Colonel, Leslie Groves, recruits Oppenheimer as the director of the Manhatton Project to develop an atomic bomb.  When president Truman orders the atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Oppenheimer is haunted with the guilt of all the deaths caused by what he had helped develop and when he goes to see Truman to discourage further development of nuclear weapons he is just dismissed.
